Chicago – The Democratic Party of Illinois today announced it has approved the Delegate Selection Plan for the 2020 Democratic National Convention.
The plan was approved at a meeting of the Democratic Party of Illinois State Central Committee on Monday. The plan formally describes the process of how the Democratic Party of Illinois will select its delegates to the 2020 Democratic National Convention, which will be held in Milwaukee from July 13 to July 16, 2020.
“Our top priority for the 2020 Democratic National Convention will be nominating a candidate to win back the White House with the help of a diverse Illinois delegation that shares a common goal of supporting the hard-working people of our state,” said Michael J. Madigan, chairman of the Democratic Party of Illinois.
The Delegate Selection Plan is posted here. A draft of the plan was released on March 26 for a 30-day public comment period. The plan will now be submitted to the Democratic National Convention Committee for review and approval.
